We are a unique choral group of 25 devoted, friendly, social, fun-loving singers with diverse musical talents, who are looking for a director who will provide us with a variety of musical styles. We rehearse once a week at Crawford Park Mansion in Rye Brook, NY, on Tuesday nights from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM, from September through June, and plan two concerts a year, plus a benefit program when available to us. We have always enjoyed performing an eclectic mix of music -- classical, Broadway, jazz and standards -- and would like to continue doing so. Our present director is re-locating, and therefore we would like to have someone who is able to meet with us right away.
For further details, please contact Joan Morenstein at mizmusic@optonline.net if you are interested.

Looking for an amazing professional recording engineer/producer to record your next choral concert, solo recital, commercial CD, demo or other venue? Please consider using Papagena Productions, a small, elite team of audio professionals that specializes in recording live performances, at a fraction of the cost of the typical NY Studio. My name is Erik-Peter Mortensen, the owner, and I've been a professional choral singer myself since the age of 9, and have worked alongside audiophile masters such as Bob Katz of Digital Domain and Gabe Weiner of Quintessential. I have a music degree from Columbia University, am working on Master Certification from Berklee Music for film and multi-media music production, and am intimately familiar with the the NY music scene. I'll record most of the venues myself, but if for some reason I'm previously engaged, I can call upon a handful of elite recording engineers, most of whom have their own audio production studios. The most frequent compliment I get from my clients is that the recorded master I present sounds even richer and more alive than their memory of the actual venue! I am an extremely talented sound editor, and regardless of which engineer records your venue, I'll always do any editing and mastering for the project myself.
For any new clients who contact me, just say you saw this ad on VAN and I'll do your first project at 50% off my already low rates -- you'll be very pleased and amazed by how the project turns out -- I guarantee it or you pay nothing!
I can send you samples of my work when you contact me by e-mail at eriksresume@msn.com or 917-628-5134 by phone. Some of my tri-state clients include: Angelica, Cerrdorian, Choral Arts Society, Dalton Chorale, Music Divine, Polyhymnia, Saint Luke in the Fields, Sing we Enchanted, Songcatcher, The NY Madrigal Singers, Tizmoret. Please inquire about my rates, bundled packages, and availability!

Attention male singers. If you are a trained singer or a vocal student, you may be interested in becoming part of the professional corps of the Westchester Concert Singers, a SATB chorus that performs the entire classical repertoire. The role of the professional corps member is to serve as a model of preparation for the music to be performed, attend all rehearsals, provide support to the section members in mastering the music, and assisting with sectional rehearsals if needed.
The chorus performs two concerts per year (early May and November/early December) and rehearsals are held on Monday evenings (no rehearsals during the winter holidays and summer). The next concert is on May 2, 2009, and will consist of a collection of choral works by Bach.
For complete information regarding auditions and compensation, contact Joan at (914) 772-3656 or joan.m.robinson@gmail.com. To learn more about the chorus and the Music Director, visit our website at www.WestchesterConcertSingers.org.

Tim Krol, formerly with the vocal group Chanticleer, just released an
album of a cappella lullabies. He and three LA Jazz Choir colleagues
recorded the album in 1989, and released it on cassette tape. While
they sold thousands of copies on cassette, as demand for cassette
recordings dwindled, so did sales... but not requests to digitize and
re-release it! Visit www.allnightlullabies.com to learn more and hear samples. Or just go to CDBaby.com/allthroughthenight to order. CDs are $12.97; Mp3 downloads are $9.99. Not only is it the
perfect gift for new parents; many fellow singers have remarked over
the years how much they enjoy it themselves! Pleasant dreams!

As one of Europe's premier choral festivals and now going into its 55th year, the Cork International Choral Festival has long been attracting choirs internationally to attend, either in a competitive capacity as part of the prestigious Fleischmann International Trophy Competition, or to participate non-competitively.
Next year's festival takes place from April 29 to May 3, 2009 and we are keen to yet again attract overseas choirs to join us to take part in this celebration of choral music. Cork welcomes choirs from across the world for a programme of choral concerts, national and international competition, and internationally renowned performances as thousands of participants bring the city to life for 5 days in May. For visiting choirs, Cork provides an opportunity not only to perform; but also to experience some of the world's best choral music, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the mingling, singing and fun of the festival club, and explore the vibrant city of Cork and its surrounds on Ireland's beautiful south coast. Visit www.corkchoral.ie/pages/how-to-apply.php to find the international application form for the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition of the 2009 Cork International Choral Festival. Full information on the festival, its competitions, and visiting Cork is also available on our website at www.corkchoral.ie and should help answer any further questions you may have.
